One of our current students, Bradley Martin, has been involved in the start-up team of a new independently owned restaurant called the .
It is located just up the road from Nashville in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Bradley is a great example of how we try to get our students active in business start-ups — to get their hands dirty in real entrepreneurial ventures while they are learning about it in the classroom.
I should also note that another student, Cameron Powell, operates the photography and video business that took the promotional pictures you see above. We highlighted Cameron’s business in an earlier post.
too true, it is essential for a student to get some real world experience. Most universities are too narrow-minded to actually implement something like this into the course outline. Sure they have internships and job-shadow opportunities, and often one even lands a job straight after University, and in my case, even before graduating. The thing is, if I were still in my first year, I would love to have been able to do something like this.
Especially in South Africa where entrepreneurial resources are so drastically scarce, this service should be made available to startups who do not have a lot of capital and aren’t able to afford the consultation fees that many of the big guys expect.
Something like this could really use the youth of today to better a country. South Africa anyway.
