In startups, is it ok to offer incentives to employees?

    I agree that it seems maybe a bit too forward to offer incentives right upon hiring. To me, this seems that if word were to get out that new employees get good incentives, you may have a larger pool of applicants that would be less qualified and prolong the hiring process. I think it is great to offer employees incentives and even stock in the company, but I also see where it could get complicated if the employee gets fired or leaves the company. Many questions may come from this, would they retain their stick ownership? Is the stock bound to the job? Lots to think about!
