Bret Waters has written a great post on the choice between sticking to your vision and pivoting based on what the market tells you.
I vote pivot (with a purpose).

I vote pivot (with a purpose).
Pivoting is very important. You should never lock yourself down into a single area because someone may come up with a new idea for your business that may make improve your business.
In another entrepreneurship class of mine, we spent a lot of time talking about pivots. I think the most important part of making the decision to pivot or not is about listening to your customers. Yes, paying attention to investors or mentors is good, but ultimately it’s the customers who matter most. If you’re not solving the problem they have in the way that they want, it doesn’t really matter how good of an idea you have.
Entrepreneurs can be resistant to change. The thought of pivoting on an idea they love feels like they are leaving all they have wanted behind. I really like that this article mentions changing the form without changing what you’re made of. Pivoting is more of an adjustment rather than a complete turnover.
