I hear from some small business owners that staffing is getting a little better for some employers, but it appears that it will remain a struggle for many others.
Here, here, and here are some ideas on how to win the staffing battle.

I found the first article linked very depictive of how positive reinforcement, employee empowerment, and trust can go a long way in preserving one’s workforce. Glen Parker, this article’s author, is right in noting that if these are leadership styles necessary to preserve a workforce during a pandemic what is to say it won’t be profoundly more effective outside of one. Hopefully, more businesses will shed the idea that people are just a cog in the machine and focus on cultivating relationships. Great article!
Something that stood out to me in the first article is how online shopping has decreased the number of workers that some small businesses need/hire. While we just covered the chapter of e-commerce in our Foundations of Entrepreneurship class, I never considered the affect it would have on retail workers. As the way the world functions continues to change, we will have to keep on adapting and pivoting the way we run our businesses.
Staffing has been such an issue in recent times. The best approach seems to be improving employee satisfaction so that they enjoy coming to work rather than dread coming in for work.
This is my 14th post, but this one hits home due to one of closest family friends having to close down for a period of time due to the lack of people wanting to work in our world today; which blows my mind. It’s one of the most difficult things for a business when they can’t get people to work or staff hired to keep it running with 100%.I think it’s really interesting to look at the online stores making it easier for small business not needing staff, but also leaving the other retail stores that want a shop in person a decrease of business.
